From the Prep Headmaster
Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.
We believe we are the right-fit school for parents who want to be involved in every aspect of their child’s learning; families who love spending time together and look for any opportunity or “excuse” to be with each other. We love learning and doing life together with the backdrop of beautiful mountains as we explore and enjoy the gifts and abilities that Father God has given everyone of us.
Treverton Prep School can be found on the ridge east of the N3 and the town of Mooi RIver. The prep school campus and buildings overlook the town of Mooi RIver toward the majestic Drakensberg range, while the extensive estate of the College and wildlife area stretch toward the banks of the Mooi River in the valley.
In our physical location, the natural environment and greater outdoors is a strong element of every educational experience. The school is old enough to stand on rich traditions Love God, Be Kind, Work Hard, Play Fair but young enough to be flexible and relevant to the present generation of learners. We are grounded in the Christian faith, in which every person is recognised and valued as unique and miraculous creations of Father God.
We are a co-educational school which begins with Grade 000 and a small boarding establishment of 30 children – intentionally planned this way. We firmly believe that one of our primary roles as a school is to partner with every family that chooses to walk their life-journey with us. We want to co-labour with parents not only in the academic learning and extension of their children, but more importantly in providing opportunities for families to build strong and robust relationships with each other and the greater school community.
We subscribe to a general, all-round and balanced education. We encourage every child to take a chance at everything “new”. We strive to provide a safe environment and breadth of opportunities for the learners to participate and get involved. Learning how to climb a tree or navigate a MTB route or throw a frisbee and delight in running along a cut trail in the wildlife estate are equally important to the exploring, investigation and learning which takes place in the classroom. Human intelligence, learning and creativity is embedded in wholesome experiential learning.
Everyday is a gift; everyday is an Open Day. We would love for you to visit us and in time join our family.
